About the author

Dennis Holley

Dennis Holley eagerly devoured every biology course he could take in college, and while he flirted for a time with the idea of becoming a marine biologist, he eventually became an educator. For nearly forty years, high schools and universities have paid him for doing what he loves: teaching biology, and writing all sorts of science curriculum materials, from lab manuals to textbooks. Along with teaching students, Mr. Holley traveled the country for many years teaching teachers how to best teach science as a member of Carolina Biological Supply Company's team of teacher consultants. He has also taught numerous science methods courses at the college level for elementary education majors and biology majors, along with a variety of other courses including general biology.
