Textbook Media Press has sold its business list to Sage Publishing. The acquisition includes titles in business, accounting, finance, and marketing, and marks a new chapter for the authors, instructors, and students who have made those books part of their courses.
Sage announced the acquisition on December 20, 2024. We are pleased to see these titles become part of its higher education publishing program, and grateful to the authors and instructors whose work helped establish the list.
A growing focus on STEM
For Textbook Media Press, the sale creates an opportunity to concentrate on the next stage of our publishing: growing a catalog of affordable textbooks and study resources for STEM courses, beginning with mathematics and biology.
Our approach will remain familiar to instructors who have worked with us. We look for books with a clear purpose in the classroom, written by authors who know their subjects and the challenges of teaching them. We want students to have useful choices in how they access those books, at prices that make adopting a required text a more manageable decision.
Expanding our mathematics and biology offerings is the starting point. We look forward to introducing additional publications and working with instructors to find the right materials for their courses.
Continuing the work
We thank our business authors for their contributions to Textbook Media Press, and the faculty members who have considered, adopted, and recommended their books. Those relationships have shaped our work and will continue to inform the publications we develop next.
